Laurey Sherman, RN, BSN, MBA

Founder of Providence Assisted Living & Administrator of Providence of Alpharetta

EDUCATION:
BS Nursing, University of Texas at Austin, 1985
MBA, Tulane University, 1987

PROFESSIONAL:
Laurey has held hospital nursing positions in Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia in gerentology, pulmonology and diabetes treatment. Her career as a hospital and technology consultant took her to Canada, France, Mexico, and Brazil where she served her Fortune 500 clients as a hospital process efficiency expert and technology implementation project manager. With the founding of Providence, Laurey has realized her vision of creating a small intimate residential care environment where seniors might live out the rest of their lives with dignity and purposefulness.

PERSONAL:
Originally from Texas, Laurey first moved to Atlanta in 1987, left to live in São Paulo, Brazil, for six years, then returned to Alpharetta to start Providence Assisted Living. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese in addition to her native English. She lives with two toy poodles and has a passion for travel and scuba diving.

Kendra Shearer, RN, MBA

Administrator for Providence of Milton

EDUCATION:

MBA, University of Cincinnati

PROFESSIONAL:
Kendra has held positions as a clinical nurse, chief nurse executive, administrator, risk management consultant, and served almost 10 years as a surveyor for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. In recent years, Kendra and her husband started a real estate brokerage business serving active adults and seniors. Kendra began working with Providence in 2007 as an interim manager and recently became the administrator for Providence of Milton.

PERSONAL:
Kendra and her husband, Paul, are originally from Ohio and have three children, four grandchildren, and three dogs. For the past fifteen years they have lived in Marietta, Georgia.
